Does anyone know of a safe, reliable and secure day care center for a 10 month old. I am looking for a place that will ease my daughter into there center and be patient with her, as she extremely attached to me due to the fact that she is still nursing. I need to find a place in two weeks! Please reach out. Thanks mom's!

Hello everyone. I have a huge problem finding a good day care for my 2y7m daughter. She is going right now to Russian speaking day care, they don't study with children, don't teach them English and etc. At first I liked this day care, but now they got worst. She doesn't know and don't understand when Im trying to speak with her in English. we live in Gravesend area and Im looking for the day care in Bensonhurst, Sheepshead bay areas. Please, if somebody knows good day care in these areas, please respond to my message. I din't find any choices above.

Hi - Does anyone have any recommendations for infant daycare in Kensignton, Ditmas Park or the area. We will need care in December 2009. Inexpensive Nanny or home daycare recs are also appreciated. Thanks!

If you have heard or know of Little Bittie Day Care, 395 Prospect Place, Brooklyn, NY 11238 or at any other location, please contact me. This day care is of special interest if it exists.
Thanks.

I just moved to Brooklyn and had the most troubling experience with Prospect Academy Group Family Daycare (PAFDC). After ready Michael blog, I contacted "Stacy”, to obtain additional information. She described her "licensed" daycare. Turns out, she is in the process of obtaining a license and incorporation. Of course no mention of this was made when she requested $65 for registration fee, $75 per day for 2 days of "transition" where parents have to stay with the child and for the first week one is only allowed to bring his child from 9 Am to 3 Pm, instead of normal hour of 7Am to 6Pm. Stacy first requested for us to send a check by priority mail, which she supposedly never received, as it was made to "PAFDC", an company not yet incorporated which prevented her to cash the check. Then she requested a 40% non refundable check, made in her name this time, "toward tuition to secure enrollment". After I expressed that I was uncomfortable about leaving a check of such amount, when we had not made up our mind on the facility and wanted my husband to be able to visit it first; She insured me that my child was not enrolled nor considered as such; that she would not be cashing it until my spouse had visited the facility the following day. Turns out Stacy cashed that same afternoon. When I caller to ask for explanation and comment on her business practice I was told to read PAFDC "duties and responsibilities" and will not be receiving any refund.
After inquiring with the NY office of children and family service this facility should not even be operating if it does not have a license or incorporation.
We learned our lesson; I hope other parents won't have to learn it in such hard way.

However, in the end we find a very nice family day care called Abundance of God’s Love Daycare, located on St James Street in Brooklyn.. Contrary to PAFDC, the daycare is actually in house and not an apartment. Everything is designed for children to learn .Every step of the day emphasize on socialization and learning through play and exploration. Their early childhood curriculum is great designed to nurture each child physical, social and cognitive development. The staff is friendly and very interested in knowing parents and children, open to dialogue and will give you a full report on your child progress. I am greatly recommending this day care.

If you are looking for a spot for 18 m.o and older,I heard that Tiny Steps day care on 4th Ave/Carroll Str. has an opening.
They also provide care for infants but not sure about the availability for that age group.
You can reach them @ 347-323-0882
