HappyBaby came to our new parents group  twice over the past year to teach us how to make organic baby food. Both founders, Jessica and Shazi came to cook and teach us their recipes.  We learned a lot about what kind of foods to start off with, how to combine them into tasty meals and how to store and transport the food safely. All the babies got to taste the foods: the quinoa, black bean and banana mix was a hit- and so was the spinach and mango (I ate my own cup of it and it was yummy). Even though Birch isn’t eating pureed food anymore I still use some of their combination ideas- like kale with berries or pears and spinach. It helps get in some of the greens that Birch rejects otherwise.  However, since I don’t cook (I can steam and toast)- I am also a happy consumer of Happy Baby Food. Word is they are coming out with some new products soon…I will be curious to see what they are like. I have some coupons left from when they taught our classes. I will send the first two people to ask for them- three coupons each. The coupons are great- buy one box of HappyBaby food and get one free. The food is available from Fresh Direct (the cheapest), local Brooklyn health food stores, Park Slope Food Co-op, Fairway and Whole Foods. You can  use the coupons everywhere but Fresh Direct.
Meanwhile, here is HappyBaby’s website.  Here is a photo of the food out of the box- it is all frozen- not in jars!
