Happy Labor Day weekend! I took a little break and hope some of you were able to also. My mom (Mimi) is visiting us and helping me get over a flu. Since she has been helping feeding and playing with Birch she commented on the mess he makes while eating. Wow! No kidding?! We have remnants of his first encounter with couscous still on our walls.  She mentioned that she thought our "splat mat" could be bigger to catch more of the food under his highchair. I told her I have been looking for larger splat mats for almost 6 months and even talked to someone at Icky Baby about my disgruntlement with their sizes. We have an Icky Baby Splat Mat that, although cute, just doesn’t provide enough coverage. Mimi said that (in her day) they used to cut out shower curtains and lay them down under our highchairs. Brilliant! How about a hand for the old do-it-yourselfers generation? In case you are interested in their "invention",  I am including a couple of fun patterns of shower curtains.
