I met Janeen at the New York Healthy Art Fair in July when Union Square was hot and we all sweated while talking about childbirth. (Seems appropriate, no?) She is a principal at Swellbeing (www.swellbeing.com) which is starting "Parenting Potlucks" in Brooklyn.  She has already done a few and is interested in offering them up to other parents and parents’ groups. Parenting Potlucks is when Swellbeing brings the parenting topic and parents bring their babies and food or drink. They will do a topic, such as sleep, specifically for your group and timetable, rather than signing up for one of their workshops. They have already covered topics including: toilet training workshops, bringing baby home, infant massage, sibling prep, feeding, cpr and first aid. Swellbeing also offers emotional support and counseling services and family life preparation. I haven’t attended one of their workshops, but really liked the tone and philosophy of Janeen when I met her. I would definitely check them out. I am thinking a toilet training seminar with them might be in the works in another few months……
