A new therapy service for kids has opened up in Ft. Greene. They do occupational therapy, physical therapy, yoga and handwriting help. See below for a comprehensive list of their services. They are offering free classes this month to introduce Brooklyn to them and their new studio. Elizabeth and David: founders of Lotus Therapy are licensed Occupational Therapists and Registered Yoga Teachers specializing in pediatrics. Traditional
occupational therapy training allows them to identify specific areas of
deficit while the yoga training empowers them to be aware of the vital connection between the mind, body and spirit. Some of their services are: comprehensive evaluation, individual OT and PT, group therapy, yoga, Sensory Integration Praxis Test, Sensory Integration Therapy, Assistive Technology Evaluation, Theraputic Listening Program, Handwriting Help with special tools and Summer Programs.

10/13/07: Yoga for Parent & Caregivers
Time: 10- 10:45 am
Treat yourself to a 45-minute yoga class focusing on gentle restorative postures, stretching, relaxation and meditation. The key here is STRESS RELIEF.
For Parents Only. Yoga mats provided.
10/20/07: Hands-on “Therapeutic Touch” Class
Time: 10- 11am
Learn how to hold, touch and facilitate motor development in your newborns in a therapeutic way. Motor movements such as rolling, sitting, crawling, standing and reaching will be emphasized. Taught by experienced pediatric occupational therapists
For Parents and Newborns (3 – 8 months old)
10/27/07: Handwriting Help for Kids (Take Home Strategies)
Time: 10-11am
Is your child about to enter preschool? Does your child have trouble with handwriting? Postural problems, fine motor delays and low muscle tone and strength can lead to poor handwriting. Learn effective strategies to improve your child’s handwriting abilities. Taught by experienced pediatric occupational and physical therapists.
