I recommend the site www.insideschools.org to everyone looking at public schools. It is a fantastic resource and always current. The founder of Insideschools.org, Clara Hemphill, is doing a series of talks about public high schools, middle and elementary schools. She also wrote the book, New York City’s Best Public Schools, which is supposedly the definitive source of NY Public Schools. I went to Borders last week to buy it and they were all sold out!  Here is the scoop on the events:
