This Weekend Picks

Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, The
Plymouth Church Yankee Fair will be held. The Children’s Street Fair includes crafts, games,
inflatable bouncers, exotic pet show, puppet show, storytelling and
pony rides. The fair also includes a shopping bonanza of gently used
children’s clothing, handcrafted gifts and decorations, antiques,
collectibles, prepared foods, books, toys, and vintage and party
clothing. Admission is free; children’s activity passes are available
for $10 per child, $25 family maximum; pony rides $5 each. Subways: 2/3

Saturday, November 10th at Gumbo: Kids Make Music with Bonga.
Bonga brings his bag of percussion toys to Gumbo and teaches kids to
make their own music using handmade drums, tcha-tchas and wooden
blocks. Call for a reservation. $15 a child, $5 a sibling: 11:30-12:15
pm.

This Saturday, the Bay Ridge Festival of Arts is having their inaugural Autumn Craft Fair. They always have a large art show and craft fair every spring, and since it’s a much loved event that gives a lot of exposure to some talented local artisans, they’ve now decided to do it twice a year. The event is as follows:

Saturday, Nov. 11th is the Rockin’ Teens Showcase with the following lineup. *by the way it’s FREE! 3 pm- Dr. Robot For the Sci-Fi Future, 3:40 pm- Jet Lag, 4:20 pm- The Minors, 5 pm- Jee Wiz, 5:40 pm- Banzal. Sunday, Nov. 11th, the American Family Jamboree at the Rodeo
Bar from 3-5 pm should be a blast! This is free, you just pay for your
grub and drinks. Songs from such favorites as Woody Guthrie, Hank
Williams, Bill Monroe etc….all done by the Demolition String Band.
There will be dancing, singalongs and Tex-Mex food. Babies and
toddlers are welcome!

Sunday is "Leaf Out in November!" at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Jump into a pile of leafy activities; leaf pressings, leaf art and leaf hunts. Kids learn hands-on about leaves: why they turn color and why they fall. The questions are answered through interactive games, crafts and experiments. Free with paid admission from 2pm-4pm. Ages 3 and up.

carrier and show you all the fun ways you can use it. Bring in
