Even More Addtions to A Child Grows Picks
Midwood Martial Arts & Family Fitness Center is registering for new classes too, and besides offering a free demo class through either Music for Aardvarks and Juguemos A Cantar at their place, (check my post here about it), they are also offering a free trial class of two others! (They have a lot more classes offered too, here are just two I am mentioning) Call to register for a free trial class.
GYMNASTICS/CREATIVE MOVEMENT. Since children are naturally creative and comfortable within their bodies, this class uses music, games, traditional techniques, and props to help kids embrace and maintain their natural exuberance and physicality. This specific class if for children 2-5 but Midwood offers a class for older children on Tuesdays from 4-5PM.
KID’S KARATE SKILLS. Karate is a traditional martial art from Japan that consists of strikes with both hands and feet. Karate Skills for four and five year olds introduces children to karate’s strikes, kicks, stances and blocks in a fun and loosely structured class. Of course they also offer Karate classes for older kids too.

Christmas Tree Recycling and Wood Chip Mulch Giveaway is on
Saturday, January 12 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
at the Green-Wood Cemetery (5th Avenue & 25th Street entrance, Brooklyn, NY).
Bring your Christmas tree (free of lights and ornaments) for chipping and a bag and shovel for free mulch. Master Composters will be on hand to answer your questions. No wreaths or plastic bags, please.Mulch is available to the public at Green-Wood all year.
