I didn’t know anything about Tu B’Shvat until I read this email in my inbox. What a wonderful idea to celebrate it here in Brooklyn in Ft. Greene. Tu B’Shvat is the day that marks the beginning of a "New Year for
Trees." This is the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the
Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new
fruit-bearing cycle. The celebration is: New Year for Trees (Tu B’Shvat) & Scavenger Hunt In Fort Greene Park – Sunday, January 20th 11:00AM -1:00PM . Sample an assortment of Israeli teas hot cocoas and hot apple cider, exotic fruits and warm treats and a Scavenger hunt. Free of Charge.

After a successful debut at the Tribeca Film Festival, THE BUSINESS OF
BEING BORN is being released in this month in NYC, LA and SF. It will
be available on Netflix in February.
Details on Film opening
NYC Opening: January 9-22 at the IFC Center.
Film Synopsis
Birth
is a miracle, a rite of passage, a natural part of life. But birth is
also big business. In the new documentary THE BUSINESS OF BEING BORN
Executive Producer Ricki Lake and Director Abby Epstein question the
way American women have babies, and explore this fundamental question:
should most births be viewed as a natural life process, or should every
delivery be treated as a potential medical emergency? THE BUSINESS OF
BEING BORN makes a compelling argument for more humanistic approaches
to birth, challenging the ideals of our technocratic society which
places absolute faith in machines and technology. It is a must-see for
anyone thinking of having a baby.
