As the summer approaches, there is always the big caregiver switcheroo and search. There are just more fun events to go to in the spring and summer and people need sitters, some families leave for the summer vacation months, thereby leaving their sitters/nannies behind, other children are starting full-time school in the fall, and there are just a ton more births in the summer! "More newborns arrive during the late summer and early fall months of
July, August, and September than during any other time of the year. August had the most birthdays in 2005 at around 369,000, and February had the fewest at about 310,000." (Babycenter.com)
So, if you want to get a jump start on it, here you go!
To help you out I have done a short listing of resources for finding emergency sitters, short-term babysitters and full-time nannies. ( A full listing is on the blog under Childcare: Nannies and Sitters)

Back when I was an intern in college, our firm worked with GreatAupair.com, another nanny site. It always got great feedback and I know for a fact it’s completely safe. I actually considered signing up for it myself this summer in need of some extra cash! But I would highly recommend this site to any parent looking for a nanny.
