I know this post was a long time ago, but I wanted to recommend a neighborhood (Clinton Hill) dad who is a lead assessor (comes to your place and does tests etc). He specializes in brownstone brooklyn and he also has experience as a contractor so he can talk to you about how to safely fix any issues, and he has a child who had elevated lead so he knows what it feels like as a parent. We just had him in this week and he was fantastic and reasonably priced. I can't recommend him enough. He even ended up talking to our pediatrician (Tribeca Ped's) about their policy of doing finger prick lead tests and has convinced them to avoid them whenever possible as they are unreliable and create major problems due to unreliable results (for example my children when finger pricked came back at a 7 & 10.8 and when done as a venus blood draw (more accurate) the results were 4.8 and 13. His name is Luke Gray and his company is Brooklyn Lead. His website is www.brooklynlead.com and his phone number is on the website. If you call him you can tell him that Amy, Luca and Maggie's mom, recommended him. Good luck! - Amy

I just went through a very similar procedure and used a consultant named Gandhi. I was pretty happy with his services - he contracted with the independent testing services and managed the abatement. He was professional and (I think) reasonable. 347-517-6669
