On September 6, River To River will once again join forces with The Drawing Center to present the third annual celebration of The Big Draw,
an all day event inspired by the wildly popular UK program of the same name.  Each year, The Big Draw offers hands-on art projects that are suitable for all ages and guaranteed to change the way we think about drawing. Participants are invited to pick up a free sketchbook and let their imaginations run wild as they engage in artist-led activities—no experience necessary! Now in its seventh year, the Festival features a wide range of music, dance, and visual arts events—all set at scenic and celebrated locations south of Chambers Street in Lower Manhattan. The River To River Festival runs through September. The Big Draw events will be held in five fantastic Lower Manhattan venues including Battery Park City Parks Conservancy’s Teardrop Park, Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, South Street Seaport Museum’s Schooner Pioneer, World Financial Center Plaza, and a New York Water Taxi. For the first time at The Big Draw, the day will culminate with an evening event onboard the South Street Seaport Museum’s Schooner Pioneer. While enjoying a sailing excursion, participants will be challenged to combine drawing and observation skills to solve a murder mystery. A convenient Downtown Connection shuttle bus will offer quick and free transport between The Big Draw venues.  For more information, please visit www.RivertoRiverNYC.com.
