(I first read about these from Zrecommends)

A teacher of special needs children invented these cool crayons.  She knew how important it was for children to develop early on a good tripod grip. Handwriting skills depend on this.  So, she invented these newly shaped crayons that encourage a child to use her thumb, first and second fingers to grasp.  She also believed that crayons should help a child make a large swath of color as children are wont to do.  Lastly, she wanted to make crayons that help students with grip strength problems and sensory processing disorders that affect fine motor control- which can be found in cerebal palsy, autism, developmental delays and some forms of learning disabilities. These crayons are soft enough (they are soy wax) and bulky enough that they can help.  Okay, enough on how great they are- take a look!

The crayons are $5 for 8 primaries, $8 for 16 or $25 for 65 crayons. You can order them at the inventor’s website.
