PARK SLOPE: ARTY PHOTO SHOOT
Monday, March 9 : 12-2 pm
I LOVE Alice Garik’s photography. You can read about her here and view her website here. Her work is not your typical studio photography, it is really art photography. It isn’t for everyone, but if you like it, then this is an amazing opportunity. Brooklyn Baby Bites has the event: you eat lunch, meet other moms and then while doing so, Alice will photograph you and your child (or just your child if you want). Alice’s sitting fee usually starts at $350, but at this luncheon it is free. You would only have to pay for the cost of any prints, if you choose to order them, after the shoot. At: Barrio, corner of 7th Ave and 3rd Street, Park Slope
$35 in advance; $40 at the door (cash or check only at the door). RSVP to Chana@babybitesbrooklyn.com

Learn how to get better with Isa Hererra of Renew Physical Therapy. It takes place at: Park Slope Fitness Collective, 366 7th Ave (11th St), 718-499-1849 , FREE! Please call to RSVP.
LONG ISLAND CITY: SWIMMING POOL
From now until May 2009
A swimming pool…in winter? Well, yes. Artist Leandro Erlich is showing this cool installation at PS 1 Contemporary Arts Center. I can’t fully explain it here without sounding confused- but suffice it to say- he created the illusion of people walking under water. Kids will think it is so cool. I always find that getting to the museum is super easy- and a great fun day. Not easy to find food around there though, so plan on eating in their cafe or brown bagging it. There are 2 other exhibitions there too: one on reduction art and the other by a video artist.
PARK SLOPE: CAMP IN THE ZOO?

She is an excellent resource and a well-known doula. Part 2 is This Blog’s Expert Pediatrician: Dr. Gilgoff.
