Monster Mash at Brooklyn Children’s Museum is a Smash

- The party was just getting started here

The blue sand table is always a hit!
Tonight we went to the Monster Mash party at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum in Prospect Lefferts. It was a total blast! I took our 3 year old Birch and our 1 year old Willow. There were huge spider balloons and streamers everywhere, and thick white cobwebs dangled from the ceiling. Initially it was just fun to see all the fantastic costumes, and that was our entertainment when we came in. Most of them were homemade and that made it extra fun. Special events included: arts and crafts with mask making, pumpkin decorating, snakes eating their prey, campfire tales and more. They showed the Michael Jackson video of Thriller in a kid-friendly theater with live dancers doing the famous Thriller steps in front of the screen. Just beware- it was too scary for a lot of the kids and so they had to leave. (Remember all the zombies and ghoulish stuff dripping from them?) The most fun was going on in the cafeteria where this great dj was spinning fantastic dance music while the kids and parents danced and danced. It was such a cool event and definitely one of the better ones going on this Halloween. It is going on Halloween night too- from 5- 8 pm. You need to get advance tickets though. Check their website for details. (Museum Members: $5 per person; Nonmembers: $10 per person).
