I have been waiting for the new candy store, Dewey’s, to open in Brooklyn ever since it was reported. They are now open, in the space next to Blueberi at 141 Front Street. From the photos by Steve Talkowski on DUMBOnyc, it looks like they have the old-fashioned button candy and lovely giant lollis. I have to do a double-take every time I say Dewey’s Candy though, it makes me think of Dylan’s Candy Bar on the Upper East Side. That place is a MUST if you are in that area. But my favorite go-to candy store of all time is Economy Candy . Now that Dewey’s is open, I am hoping to reduce my trips to the Lower East Side for my licorice fix.

Oh, that sounds like a great party idea for adults as well! Shall we?!
For my girl’s eleventh birthday they wanted to have a shopping spree at Economy Candy with a select group of friends followed by a “sleep over” (read: sugar rush all nighter). They had a great time and my husband and I recovered in a day or two.
