I love this time of the year. New kids’ classes are starting up in the next two weeks. It’s a new semester and a chance for you and your child to try anything you want- and for FREE! How about a Mandarin class, or a karate class or ballet? What could be more fun? Visit the free trial class list below to find that perfect class. I am sure you will find something to make your little one’s heart sing!
Amerikik

ArtsCetera
Beginning January 11th, ArtsCetera will be holding free trial classes for families wanting to sample something new and for alumni who want to check out their new Park Slope location at Bend and Bloom Yoga at 708 Sackett Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues. Parents voted ArtsCetera’s art classes “Best in Brooklyn” (Nickelodeon’s Parents Connect)

Danceweave
Danceweave has been popular with parents for babies and toddlers. Their 17-week semester starts February 9. They are offering free trial classes on Tuesday, February 9th:
9:30am-10:10am Creative Movement for 20 mos-2 yrs
10:15am-10:55am Creative Movement for 2-2.5 yrs
11am-11:40am Creative Movement for 2.5-3 yrs

GoGo Babies
They are offering a free trial class at their location at Birthday Presence. Their location in Carroll Gardens at Families First is usually a sell-out, so this is an opportunity to check it out in Park Slope. Classes meet Wednesdays at 12:30 for 8 weeks to pre-crawling and 1:30 for crawling to standing. Class site is at Birthday Presence 291 8th St. @ 5th ave. in Park Slope. Musica Para Mi
Musica Para Mi is New York City’s original music-in-Spanish program for young children. The program has been around for 10 years. Join a free trial class at one of their 8 locations in Brooklyn. To reserve a spot, please respond with: 1) a 1st and 2nd choice of location/day/time of class you’d like to attend 2) your name and best number to use in case of last-minute changes 3) your child’s name and age. Lango Brooklyn
Whether it’s Spanish, French or Mandarin you have in mind for your child(ren), Lango has immersion classes. Lango will be offering Mandarin at the Greenlight Bookstore and Spanish and French at the Mark Morris Dance Center- both locations are in Fort Greene. Parents Rock
Parents Rock is a class that teachers parents how to play songs on guitar that they and their kids will enjoy. On Sunday, January 10th from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Danielle Sara of ‘Parents Rock’, is offering a free information session on learning to play guitar. In addition you can bring your guitar in for tuning or if you do not have a guitar, get information on best places to purchase. Call Gumbo to reserve your spot. Sign-a-Song
Sign-a-Song, a musical introduction to American Sign Language for the whole family, begins its winter session the week of January 17th in Park Slope, Cobble Hill, and Brooklyn Heights. All classes appropriate for children ages 3 months to 3 years. Free trial classes are always available, they just ask that you reserve in advance.
