  1. my son is only 9 months but from the first second he could hold things he became obsessed with our remote control. He has so many toys but always goes back to that one. We have bought him toy ones or taken batteries out of and old one to give to him yet he still manages to find the real one and loves to hold it, push the buttons, suck on it (he’s teething) and throw it! marisaj1228@gmail.com

  2. My grandson has been totally fascinated and absorbed in Star Wars-themed
toys and books since just before his 6th birthday last November. His
favorite is Anniken, who later turns into DarthVadar and is Luke Skywalker’s
father. Please enter him: Joseph Harsh Garment as a potential photo session
winner. I’m submitting him, since he does not have his own email account, not
being allowed to use the web without supervision. Thanks,Natasha nharsh@nyc.rr.com

  3. Our daughter’s favorite toy right now (15 mos.) is actually a book: 10 Little Rubber Ducks by Eric Carle. She carries it around, opens it frequently to the page where the rubber ducks are tossed overboard (and yells “UH-oh!”), and loves to squeeze the rubber duck in the last page. She likes it so much, she says “quack quack” instead of her old “arf arf.”

  4. My son is in love with his lion. We called him Juergen for a long time, after the person who gave it to us, then he realized it was like a kitty he was fascinated with, and it has become “GiGi”. He recognizes even the smallest glimpse of him in a photo and will shout out “GiGi!!!” He used to love to chew on his nose, and has changed to running his tail between his middle and ring fingers as a big comfort measure.

The best toy I can link to is the plan toys balancing cactus.

It says three and up as a balancing game, but I’ve found almost every baby from 11 or 12 months can put the pieces together instantly and they all love it a lot.

  5. My 2.5 year old has loved the Leap Frog Fridge Farm.

I got it for him when he was 1 so he could practice matching. He woke up every morning and played with it. Not only did he love the matching aspect, but he LOVED the music it played. To this day he pushes the buttons and dances to the tunes it plays. It has also been a great toy for his visiting friends. It has not too many pieces, rewards the child for making a match, and is charming and informative.

  6. Cameron got this “Activity Center” from one of Matt’s Co-workers when he was about 1 month old. We kept it in the closet until he was about 6 months old. When we finally broke it out, I was very unimpressed with it. It didn’t seem to do much at all, and I found the music it played to be annoying. Well, shows what I know – this has been, and still is, one of Cameron’s favorite toys. He loves the music, loves the spinning balls, loves everything about this toy! And so do the other kids at playgroup. There is generally a crowd around it. Cameron is now 14 months old, and activates this toy immediately upon being released from his crib every morning. Then he bobs his head and dances to the music. We even have a friend who has a 3 year old boy, and when he comes over to play the activity center is on his “to do” list. I guess this toy’s got a long life ahead of it…..

  7. My son loves his bilibo- it can be whatever he wants it to be… a hat, a spinning chair, a regular chair, a turtle to ride- whatever he imagines. It is colorful and really encourages imaginative play. It was relatively inexpensive and a great investment. He likes to drag it behind him full of toys some times. It seems like every few days he comes up with a new way to play with it. I hope that other people will enjoy it too.

  8. My 2 month old daughter absolutely loves her Pupsqueak the Pup by Lamaze toy. If she is happy, sad, or frustrated one look at this toy and she forgets about the rest of the world and turns all smiles. The crinkling ears, jingeling legs, and barking snout keep her mesmorized for hours. It was bought as a gift, and it is waht I plan to buy all my friends that have children in the future.

  9. My almost 2-year-old has been loving the Chicco Bilingual farm since he was 1 (it was one of his birthday presents). We are raising him bilingual, so I was happy to find this great little collection of animal sounds and songs in both languages. When he first started playing with it, he was fascinated with pressing the buttons and the music and lights. Now he’s identifying some of the animals, and as he grows up he’ll enjoy some of the activities that he can do with it (“find the animal that goes, moo, moo!”).

  10. Our 15 month old loves her ELMO doll and gives him kisses every day. She also makes Elmo sit on the potty and puts him in her baby stroller and wheels him around the house.

  11. My son loves to play with my old small cuisinart food processor (without the blade obviously). When it broke, I was wondering what to do with it, and realized he might like taking it apart and putting it back together. “Like” turned out to be an understatement. He constructs and deconstructs and pulls it around and carries it and just kind of loves it. I cook a lot. He seems to want to share that!
