How to remove paint and ink from clothing

I had given up on removing some acrylic paint from last week’s painting session until I saw this post today on Oh Dee Doh. This method apparently works whether the spot is wet or dry….  Oh Dee Doh got the inside tip from  Claudine Hellmuth who has a line of craft paint.  She figured out the solution when she found some of her own paint (which is designed to be waterproof for painting on fabrics) got on her jacket…..mistakenly. So, she set about getting it off. She cautions that the fix is only about 99% effective…I would say those are good odds.

Her solution:

Step One: Soak the spot in rubbing alcohol (she suggests really saturating the clothing). Step two: scratch at the stain with your fingernail or hard object, going against the grain of the fabric. Step Three: Toss the clothing in the wash and it should come out clean. Claudine has photos of her process and the success she had! It’s very satisfying to see the step by step process and the final result!

Comments from readers on her blog said that the rubbing alcohol also works on ink, permanent Sharpie marker stains and one reader said that Vodka works if you don’t have rubbing alcohol! Na Zdarovye!
