Kids shoe time in the Slope

It’s that dreaded time of year when you have to take the rambunctious toddler shoe shopping.  Since Peek-a-Boo Kids on 7th Ave closed, those of us in the south slope are trying to find a new go-to shoe store. A friend suggested Windsor Shoes Too (227 Prospect Park West).  I’m really glad she did.

It was an easy jaunt past the Pavilion Theater. The folks at Windsor Shoes Too were extremely helpful and quite patient, which is especially impressive when dealing with a toddler on a sugar high. (I had brought a supply of lollis for the occasion).  The store had a great selection of inexpensive shoes, such as Crocs, and more expensive brands, like Merrell, Geox, and Keen.  They were also great at fitting my son with shoes that are comfortable now but allow for growth as Spring turns to Summer.

They do not carry See Kai Run (go to Lisa Polanski Shoes, 121 7th Ave) or Salt Water brands (see Lolli, 169 7th Ave), which I know are popular, but I did find some awesome, versatile waterproof sandals and they even helped my picky son find ones he liked too. So, I got both pairs. The store runs a deal that when you buy 10 pairs of shoes you get a pair FREE!

My son left wearing his new shark Crocs, socks and all. And, yes, they are shark-shaped, but he’s got shoes on his feet and he’s wonderfully happy about it!
