The unrelenting winds may have crushed your last $3.00 street umbrella, but not your soul!  Take heart, the forecast is starting to look up and brighter days are indeed ahead!  Toss that Maclaren rain cover and your Wellingtons in back of the closet and head out to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for Spring Break Discovery Week.  Change is already in the air in the garden, and they’ve planned loads of nature-based activities for the kids.  In addition to the usual gold fish spotting, turtle watching and general romping in the children’s garden, there will also be pussy willow handouts and scavenger hunts.  Other upcoming spring events include: An Earth Day Celebration with earth-friendly crafts and take home plants on Thursday, April 22nd from 3-5pm, in May – Celebrate Spring, each weekend they’ll track changes around the garden and will make seasonal crafts, have science activities or plantings and in June – Insect Heroes, join the garden to investigate garden pollinators, predators, and prey.
