Dharma Yoga Brooklyn in Park Slope
Today is the grand opening of The Commons, which is a community space in Boerum Hill that will be offering a variety of donation-based yoga, including prenatal. They are offering prenatal yoga classes (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am – 11:30am) as well as general classes (vinyasa, sivananda, and gentle). Some of the classes take place on their rooftop, and even more lovely sounding- at sunset. Their prenatal teachers are certified yoga instructors who have received training in prenatal yoga teaching through the Prenatal Yoga Center teacher training program in New York City. Mats, blocks and blankets are available.
Dharma Yoga Brooklyn opened last month with their donation based classes in Park Slope. They offer classes at all levels, including meditation.
So what exactly does donation based mean? Students can pay what they can afford. Suggested donation is $10 at The Commons , but “any amount is greatly appreciated.”
To see where else donation based yoga classes are offered in Brooklyn, or else just where a budget-conscious yogi can practice, check out Brokelyn’s list here (and the helpful readers’ comments).

Thank you so much for writing this article. I’m a new Mom and have been looking for a yoga studio near my house on Vanderbilt and am excited to get back into the practice!
