Charles, our Music Listings Editor, has culled all the music listings to tell you where to go hear the best music this weekend.  I always like Lloyd Miller and his intelligent and melodic songs (Knitting Factory) and who doesn’t love Secret Agent 23 Skidoo and their hip hop beat? They have 2 concerts this weekend- a free one at Queens Library and a ticketed one at Irving Plaza. One of my personal  favorite jazz singers, Carolyn Leonhart will be at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum for Brooklyn’s Beat Concert. And, though I have never seen the The Rozz & Val Show, I have seen a clip and I think they have a cool concept down that’s totally smart. Of course, Gustafer Yellowgold is always on my list of “to-sees” and especially since the show is so close (Brooklyn Children’s Museum). Lastly, like Charles said: “I can’t think of a better way to enjoy Father’s day than to lie on a beautiful patch of grass listening to music and being fed strawberries and ice cream by my wife and kids.  It can all come true at this Father’s Day Sing-A-Long at Prospect Park!”

  1. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. …And don’t forget that Brooklyn local, Eli “Paperboy” Reed is playing at The Bell House on the 19th. Not a kids’ show but one for the parents. However, the music beats the hell out of most “kids” records and my kids LOVE him.
