There’s a carnival coming to Brooklyn this July: but it’s not what you think it is. This carnival is FREE and there aren’t the usual rides. Instead, it’s about interactive activities that yes, don’t include neon or WACK-A-MOLE (though I know most of us love that game).

The camp, babysitting club, playspace and now new preschool, NY City Explorers will be hosting the carnival every weekend for most of the summer in a new BedStuy location. The owners won an architectural design competition this last year and as a result, they have built an outdoor space with a hula hoop canopy that uses hundres of hoola hoops and cable ties.  Hang out under the canopy for an entire afternoon of family-focused activities for all aged kids and all the activities are FREE FREE FREE! (in spirit of the carnie call).

NYCE Carnival is open every Saturday and Sunday from July 10th-August 14th from 1pm-6pm. It runs for 6 weeks starting July 9th from August 14th on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-6pm.

This is the itinerary for the 1st 2 weeks: (specific times and activities are listed on their site).
