On the heels of Lulu’s Cuts and Toys announcement this week that they are opening a new children’s resale (and some new) shop, another one announces it too is opening! That’s great news for families. There can never be enough resale shops- especially since Brooklyn is rumored to have had the most babies born in any borough in 2007. (So, there should be a glut of 3 year olds clothing at the shops, right?)
Monk’s Trunks (great name, great logo) will open this fall in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. It is being opened by the husband and wife bloggers at Hawthorne Street (a blog about news and reno tips from Prospect Lefferts). They will sell not only gently used clothing, but children’s books, toys, gear and even a few new items and gifts. They are currently buying for fall and winter — AND they pick up throughout brownstone Brooklyn!
Here’s what they are buying right now:
- Children’s clothing (up to size 8): needs to be clean and in excellent condition; sizes from 4T to 8 are especially needed
- Children’s books
- Baby carriers, slings
- Shoes
- DVDs
- Toys/puzzles with all pieces
If you’ve got some clothes your kids have outgrown, email them at [email protected] and they will arrange for an appointment.
