“Music in the Grove Kids Series” in Fort Greene Park has become my favorite free summer activity- along with many other parents. The families keep rolling in for it….there have been up to 400 people at the sweet, easy-going music series. Don’t worry, it never feels crowded, just fun and mellow like Ft. Greeners generally are.

Tomorrow’s music is performed by Rolie Polie Guacamole. This Brooklyn-based quintet speaks absolute, child-relatable truths about the trials of ordering at Mexican restaurants, waiting for the train in wintertime, and the divine sanctuary that is the Museum of Natural History.

Details: Wednesday, July 21st 10am-11am.  Please bring a blanket and come early to get settled! They do have stroller parking too. The concert will be held at Fort Greene Park (link to map) up the hill, just south of the Fort Greene Park Martyrs Monument.  Getting to the show: C train to Lafayette Avenue or the B, Q or R to DeKalb, the G to Fulton, or the 2, 3, 4, 5 to Nevins St. or Atlantic Center. Nearby buses are the B38, B52, B25,  and B26. Use any entrance to the park.   For more information about The Conservancy please visit our website www.fortgreenepark.org for a list of 2010 Events.
