Der Schwarze Kölner has just announced that on Saturday, July 31 2010 at 4pm they are having their first family/kids concert featuring Tres Leches – and it’s free! Tres Leches is a Brooklyn based music trio creates world-infused folk music for children and people of all ages.  If you’ve taken Music Together in Fort Greene then you are likely familiar with two of the tree moms in the trio – Havalah Collins and Jessie White.

A family concert at a beer garden?  For those in the know, this won’t come as a surprise.  Der Schwarze Kölner is actually one of Fort Greene’s most family friendly establishments.  The owners have a baby themselves, the staff is super nice and accommodating, and there’s lots of space for kids to roam around.  Sometimes they even bring out toys for the kids to play with!  I happen to know this because my parent friends and I go every Friday for Babies and Beers!

So check out the free concert, have a beer, and get your little one a bite to eat (the Chicken Sausage and the Gouda with pickle and a roll seem to be the favorites among our toddler-set).

You can get there by taking the C to Lafayette, the G to Fulton, or its just a short walk from the Atlantic Center.
