Daddy's Day Care in Park Slope on 6th Ave at Garfield

I was walking through Park Slope the other day and this sign caught my eye, “Grand Opening of Daddy’s Day Care.” I don’t know when it actually opened, but I had to stop, snap a photo and post the info in case it was as new to you as it was to me. I think it’s pretty new since I haven’t noticed the sign before, but you never know, those “Grand Opening” signs can have a way of sticking around.

The daycare is called Daddy’s Day Care. I can’t tell who actually runs it, but the sign said “ask for daddy when you call.” They take infants from 6 weeks to 5 year olds.  It’s a “Group Family Home Daycare” that says it’s licensed by NYC Dept of Health Bureau of Day Care, serves organic meals, has gym, arts and crafts, reading, music and other activities. The flyer also says that have a backyard and the whole floor is set up for daycare use only.

Their hours are from 8 am- 6 pm, although they do offer extended hours, and part-time and full-time enrollment. You can see the daily schedule here.

If you know anything more, feel free to post in the comments below.

  1. I just spotted one in Kensington that looks really nice: Wonderland Daycare Center, at 265 Newkirk Ave. Talked to the staff and the director; they all seemed very professional and very good with the kids from what I saw (I’m an incurable Nosy Nellie, so I tried to poke my nose in everywhere. :) I especially liked their focus on education and preparation, as well as the wide range of toys and activities they offer.

Snooped around on the web :) – their website is http://childcarebrooklyn.com and the phone # is (718)871-5034. I’m going back to see the director Friday morning and get some more details, and will probably transfer my kids there (it’s certainly more convenient to my job than the old place was!)

  2. Thanks for the info A.K. please keep us all updated on what you find out about daycares as you do your search.

  3. I just gave them a call for more information but I could hear kids/babies crying and screaming in the background the entire time. I’m not sure if this is a bad sign. My husband and I are very new to searching for a daycare for our baby. From the phone call, it definitely gave me a bad feeling about them.

  4. I don’t know much about them but I did notice that they copied/pasted their discipline policy practically word for word from another day care website – which I found a bit odd since they mention no affiliation.
