This event is perfect for the boat fans in your family. In ours, we have two. A 40 year old man, who gets as excited as his 4 year old sidekick, seeing a tiny tug boat push a freighter. In this case, I guess they’ll be thrilled to see that tug boat push a barge (and a historical one at that).
This summer we have all been visiting Pier 6 for it’s incredible, if not slightly dangerous, playground. This weekend Pier 6 will also have the additional “pull” of  Tug & Barge Week.

Two antique vessels are visiting Pier 6, courtesy of the Tug Pegasus Preservation Project, the Waterfront Museum and Brooklyn Bridge Park. Tug & Barge Week will feature free public tugboat trips, (yippeee!), free walk-up barge tours, and a community fundraiser event.
