The Hoboken Music Festival

There is a going to be a serious kids’ music jam on Saturday. Six great groups are being squeezed into three hours to save the music program at PS 154. The performers include: Lloyd Miller of The Deedle Deedle Dees, Fati & Charles, Pete Sinjin, Neon White, Moona Luna, and a free for all Jam with the amazing percussionist Neil Ochoa. Plus there will be an Amazon obstacle course, an inflatable bouncy castle, and lots of yummy food.  Head over to Hoboken on Sunday for the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival where there will be more than 200 artists, local vendors and kids performances, including concerts by Erin Lee and the Up Past Bedtime Band and a magic show from Oakie Dokie Clown. Seeing Laurie Berkner live is something everyone should do at least once. She’s back in NY at Town Hall to perform songs from her newer CD Rocketship Run. If more low key is your speed this weekend, take a stroll to the The 5th Avenue Park Slope Farmers Market and hear Rolie Polie Guacamole jam. They were great at Atlantic Antic- and surprised a lot of festival goers with their funny lyrics and catchy tunes.
