The Brooklyn Waldorf School in Fort Greene has been looking for a new home to expand their program to include classes up to grade 8.
It appears they might have found one. Apparently, they have selected the Claver Castle at St. Peter Claver Roman Catholic Church, as the favored choice. The Castle is located on Claver Street between Franklin and Classon Avenues in Bed-Stuy. It would give them room to expand as well as allow them to offer programs like: gardening, bio-dynamic farming, extended movement and athletic classes, woodwork, organic cafeteria, parent meeting and lounge areas and more.
The Board of Trustees is moving fast: they hired Rogers Marvel Architects as the lead architect/designers, a general contractor, historic preservation experts and more.
They have a tight timetable they are trying to meet, but it looks like they have a lot in place to get it done by then.
