Ahh… New Years Weekend! That means celebration, reflection and fun! We have a list of family activities and celebrations here. Charles, our Music Listings Editor, has uncovered some fantastic music events. Judy Collins, Lauren Flanigan (hello past!) at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine?! Wow! My pick though is to head to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum to hear our own Charles and his wife Fati to celebrate Three Kings Day (Los Reyes). See you there Charles!
Friday December 31st
7:00 pm: New Year’s Eve Concert for Peace
Legendary singer-songwriter Judy Collins joins Harry Smith, Lauren Flanigan and others in a night of readings, meditations and festive music—including the traditional passing of candle flames while singing This Little Light of Mine. Although the 90-minute program ends long before midnight, it’s a positive way to ring in 2011. Ages 6 and up.
