Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could rock the Bowery Ballroom with a special show to celebrate their new CD Love Me For Who I Am, an album inspired by kids of all abilities – particularly those on the autism spectrum.

11:00 am: Concert for Japan
Japan Society presents a 12-hour concert and open house extravaganza to benefit organizations that directly help people affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan. In addition to various music acts by dozens of artists, this one-day event offers special activities for all ages, from Origami and Washi Lantern Installation workshops for good wishes, to Language Classes, Calligraphy Workshops, Kamishibai Storytelling, and more.

Clarinetist Oran Etkin plays tunes from his children’s album Wake Up Clarinet!, a collection of jazz-inflected compositions. Ditties like the title track and “Little Lamb Jam” will no doubt get little ones bopping.

3:30 pm: Bilingual Birdies 4th Birthday Party
A multicultural concert by the Bilingual Birdies Band, who will sing in Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Hebrew. Families can also play with the water tables in the Imginasium and get their faces painted while they jam to tunes.

8:00 pm: Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concert: Soh Daiko
Soh Daiko performs traditional pieces from the Shinto music tradition, as well as original compositions by members of the ensemble.

10:00 am: Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights CD Release Show
Award winning kindie rocker Joanie Leeds and her band The Nightlights rock the JCC to celebrate the release of her new album What a Zoo!: A Tribute to All Things Animals. Joanie also performs tunes from her CD I’m a Rock Star, and her debut full length DVD, City Kid Live (which was filmed at the JCC).
