Hopefully everyone is safe and sound after Hurricane Irene. Since we spent most of the weekend inside we are excited to enjoy some outdoor activities this week like the Vienna Music Film Festival where you can sample some Austrian food and listen to musical classical performances. As the summer is winding down we are also excited to take a ride on the Carousolar at South Street Seaport, listen to some music at the Rocking Chair Music Series at Caribou Baby and check out one of the last outdoor movies with Toy Story 3 at Betsy Head Memorial Playground. GE Carousolar at South Street Seaport
GE’s solar-powered twist on the family favorite carousel is landing in New York’s South Street Seaport for the month of August. Beginning August 3rd, kids can take a free ride on the “Carousolar” while moms and dads can charge their mobile devices with one of GE’s solar-powered charging stations. Visitors can also check out lots of new and innovative things GE is currently working on in the solar space. HIP play
Still Hip has daily playgroups in their fun playspace. Participants are simply asked to help set up and clean up the space, but there will always be someone in the store to help. Vienna Music Film Festival
The Vienna Music Film Festival includes a selection of classical concerts and opera performances recorded at many of Austria’s, and Europe’s, most prestigious music venues. This fun date night is also a great way to sample Austrian food vendors and view classical performances at sunset. At the event, there will also be a drawing at the concert to win a trip to Vienna.
