For the smaller Brooklynites that aren’t quite ready for school, we discovered some fun sing-alongs, story times and plays. Parents will love Babies and Books at the Central Library as a way to meet new local parents and to bond with your baby over music and reading. This week you can also check out the regular schedule at Mini Max Toys and Cuts with a story time on Tuesday, a music jam session on Wednesday and a French story time on Thursday. Also, don’t miss out on the Open Studio at the Barking Cat Studio where you can you can enter to win a free workshop, enjoy free arts and crafts and meet their staff. Open Studio at Barking Cat Studio
One of the studios we hear consistent praise for, Barking Cat, is having a grand re-opening week celebration. At this fun event, you can enter to win a free workshop, enjoy free arts and crafts and meet their staff. To sweeten the deal they are also offering treats and balloons to the kids! Babies and Books at the Central Library
A fun way to bond with your baby and meet new parents is through the Babies and Books program at the Brooklyn Public Library. This free event is targeted for babies 0 to 18 months and includes readings from children’s books, songs and rhymes. Pick up a ticket at the Children’s Reference Desk on the morning of the program. HIP play
Still Hip has daily playgroups in their fun playspace. Participants are simply asked to help set up and clean up the space, but there will always be someone in the store to help. Drop-In Class with Jeremy Zmuda
Jeremy Zmuda is offering a drop-in session for his new developmental music classes. Through this program, you and your family can drop-in and check out their introductory Rock-ucation music (Music plus education classes) and movement. Designed for kids from six months to five years, the classes have also been developed by early childhood specialists as they teach kids about language, social skills, and emotional concepts while singing, dancing and having fun!
