Growing up in Bay Ridge, the Ragamuffin Parade was an incredible unique experience. I remember dressing up and loving the festivities as the crowd cheered us on as we marched down Third Avenue. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the parade that organizers tout as a “safe alternative to trick or treating” where thousands of kids dress up and parade down Third Avenue between 76th street to 92nd street. At the end of the parade there is  a contest for the best costume, which in the past has included a bike for six kids. This Bay Ridge tradition is one not to missed and it is truly one of the best fall festivities in NYC!
