The Chile Pepper Fiesta is a hot event for adults and kid because there is hot music, hot entertainment and hot food! Dig into yummy salsa and hot sauces, pickles and kimchee, sample and pick delicious peppers from all over the world and listen to live music all within the gorgeous backdrop of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
For music, kids will love dancing and listening to the mariachi group Mariachi Tapatio de Alvaro Paulin as well as other bands from Chile-loving regions around the world like the Lost Bayou Ramblers featuring Violent Femmes’ Gordon Gano; electronic Afrobeat by Chico Mann; roots rocking honky tonk by The Defibulators; Afro-Caribbean worldbeat by Dominic James and the Rhythm Machine; and more. There is also no shortage of things to see and do at this event with cool circus tricks like fire breathing and juggling from circus masters Robbins & Ringold. Come hungry as the food at this Fiesta is outrageously varied from peppers to chocolate. Satiate your sweet tooth with a “make your own cocoa concoction” workshop and the Brooklyn Chile Chocolate Takedown where you can nosh on chocolatey treats from some of the best artisanal chocolatiers in Brooklyn. This is one afternoon you don’t want to miss!
