The hottest young adult authors are coming to Brooklyn for a discussion at powerHouse Arena about their recent novels. Authors David Levithan, Jonathan Farmer, Matt Blackstone, Christopher Grant, and Gae Polisner sharetheir recent novels about shattered teenagers who try to understand their fragile world. This will definitely be an invigorating discussion – especially for parents of this demographic.

About the Authors:

Matt Blackstone is teacher who joined Teach for America after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. His book, A Scary Scene in a Scary Movie is his first novel that he wrote for the teens he teaches.

Christopher Grant, author of Teenie, is from Brooklyn, New York whose influences range from Tom Clancy to Junot Diaz. Currently a professional equities trader, he loves spending his free time traveling with his wife and family.

David Levithan is the editorial director at Scholastic and the the author of many acclaimed young-adult novels, including the New York Times bestselling Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist (with Rachel Cohn).

Gae Polisner writes women’s and young adult fiction and wrote The Pull of Gravity (her first novel) as an homage to the books she loved as a teen. Gae is also a divorce attorney/mediator and loves to swim in Long Island.
