Friday October 28th

4:00 pm: Funky Family Folk Fridays w/ Nikolai & NikosKids
Nikolai & NikosKids present the Funky Family Folk Fridays jam session/concert series.  They play NikosKids originals and true folk standards.

Saturday October 29th

11:00 am: Ben Rudnick and Friends
Kids can jive to bluegrass, calypso and rock-tinged tunes about the likes of race cars and fishes from this high-energy acoustic group.

11:30 am: Frolic! presents Little Rock-its feat. Tim Kubart RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER, NO DATE SET YET
Head to The Edge waterfront (N. 6th St and Kent Ave) for an afternoon of free music. Up-and-coming W-burg play space Frolic! (opening in late fall) presents a performance by Tim Kubart from Tim and the Space Cadets.

12:00 pm: Ghouls & Gourds
Don’t let a cold and dark night hide your family’s fabulous costumes, show them off at Brooklyn’s best Halloween bash for families, Ghouls & Gourds! The day is full of musical mayhem, thrilling attractions and lot of other oddities. Visitors will enjoy musical performances by bands including The Richmond Indigenous Gourd Orchestra, The Xylopholks, The Itinerants, and One World.

1:00 pm: Saturday Family Programs: Musical BOO-Fest
Brooklyn Conservatory of Music presents a variety show of ghoulish music performed by costumed characters with strange and haunting instruments! The show will be interactive with movement, face-painting and candy.

Sunday October 30th

11:00 am: Meet the Singer: Dan Zanes
Kindie vet Dan Zanes invites fans across the city to enjoy an exclusive, free performance at the Apple Store UWS! Famous for his Grammy-winning album Catch That Train, Zanes is excited to launch his new album Little Nut Tree. This kid-friendly album offers a variety of musical styles from funk to country.

2:00 pm: Jazz for Kids
Introduce your kids to the joys of jazz at the Jazz Standard’s weekly Sunday brunch program. The Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra, made up of talented youngsters between the ages of 11 and 18, provides the music, while your family chows down on a barbecue brunch from Blue Smoke.

3:00 pm: Bash the Trash ‘n’ Thundering Taiko Drums
The trash bashers are back for a sixth year to provide interactive workshops for family fun. For an hour, the band gives a loud, exciting concert using Japanese Taiko drums. And since Halloween is the day after, kids can create spooky music on their very own drums!

3:00 pm: Omega Ensemble: Gift to the City
Families are invited to see the Omega Ensemble’s “Gift to the City,” a free concert series with an impressive cast of young artists. Among the performers are violinist Ayano Ninomiyo, cellist Brook Speltz, violinist Molly Carr and pianist Doris Konig. Especially designed for young audiences, this performance is sure to be a memorable one for kids!

7:00 pm: Spooky, Eerie, Scary Pipes: A Halloween Concert
Celebrate Halloween with some spooktacular songs. Undead organist Gregory Eaton plays some scary songs to entertain families. And if the mood or music strikes you, participate in the Black Cat Walk. This frightening fashion show lets everyone strut their stuff before hitting the streets for trick-or-treating.
