It was announced last week that Amazon is launching a grocery delivery service called AmazonFresh in NYC. Per the Re/code article the service will only be in Park Slope at this time and for Amazon Prime customers. AmazonFresh first started servicing Seattle and expanded to Los Angeles & San Francisco, California last year.
Per the AmazonFresh website delivery is free for orders over $35 and if you place an order by 10am you can get it later that day. There is also early morning delivery service if you order by 10pm.
As I checked out the website I noticed you can shop by recipes, order items from restaurants in NYC like S’MAC Vegan Garden Medley Mac & Cheese and items from local shops like Gorilla Coffee beans. The same order could also include items from Amazon.com like digital cameras and toys. With all these features busy families could have a lot shorter to do lists!
Sadly there is no information on when AmazonFresh will expand outside of Park Slope at this time.
