Apply Now for a Free Ice Skating After-School Program at the LeFrack Center

ice skates 2Brooklyn Ice is a free after-school skating program for children in Brooklyn that was founded in 2004.  They are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make ice skating an accessible sport to children living near Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

Starting in November Brooklyn Ice will be running a free after-school ice skating program in Prospect Park at the new LeFrak Center, Lakeside. The program runs from 4:00 to 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and will include on-ice skating instruction, off-ice fitness, homework help and more. The skating program ends in March 2015 with an ice skating performance for the Brooklyn community.

The application deadline is October 30, 2014 and there are a limited number of spots remaining.

Applicant Requirements include:

  • Child must be a resident of Brooklyn and in grades one to eight
  • Show proof of Enrollment in school’s reduced or free lunch program
  • Child must be able to attend both after-school skating sessions
