Christmas trees don’t get to have all the fun; after all, Hanukkah is the festival of lights. In downtown Brooklyn, a special menorah will be lit every night of the holiday but the real celebration begins this Monday night.
Join your Brooklyn neighbors for this fabulous, festive night that begins at 5 pm at Borough Hall. See the Chanukah Drum Circle, hear the sweet voices of the Kiddie Korner choir and munch on traditional latkes and a delicious donut or two. There will be also be refreshments.
The big news! Each child will also receive a Chanukah present.
Marty Markowitz, our Brooklyn Borough President, will light the menorah to begin the Festival of Lights. Then, every night throughout Chanukah, the menorah will be lit at 5 pm, Friday at 7 pm and Saturday at 6 pm.
The event takes place outside the Brooklyn Court House at Borough Hall.
The event is co-sponsored by Marty Markowitz and the Chabad of Brooklyn Heights.
