Need a passport stat? Try Brooklyn Public Library
The one place I refuse to go to in Brooklyn is the post office. It’s like hell on earth- you wait in a snaking, long line with other disgruntled customers, and then someone snaps. It always happens- and really can you blame them? The last time I did go to the post office was 2 years ago because I needed new passports for both my children. I called for an appointment, showed up at the p.o. with both kids, only to have to do the whole thing over again because I had put my signature in the wrong place. @#$*!*!. So, I’m encouraged about the ongoing adulation that the 1 year old passport office at the Brooklyn Public Library continues to get. Just think! None of us have to visit the post office anymore to get a new passport! This is a reason to celebrate.
The Brooklyn Public Library is a passport services center and is the first library system in New York City to offer complete passport services, including photography. Go Brooklyn! The new passport center at Central Library has flexible evening hours (woo hoo!) and is open seven days a week (double woo hoo!).
*****This service is for a new U.S. passport or passport card only; they do NOT provide passport renewal service. To renew a passport, please visit the U.S. State Department website.
