They rent equipment, chairs, tables, linens, coat racks, tents, garden equipment, china etc, carnival supplies, disco balls, fog machines, imprinted ribbons, restrooms, etc.

We rented children’s table and chairs and adult tables for a party. The delivery came on time, the men stacked them where we wanted (down a stoop in the back hallway) and picked up on time too. The quality of the tables and chairs were okay- a lot of mark-ups, but I expected that. The linens were fine- except one that I put on the kids’ table and THEY of course didn’t notice! I would suggest getting larger tablecloths then they recommend though b/c I thought they seemed a little short and ended up showing the table’s sticky metal legs!

We recently threw a joint birthday party for my son and daughter (3 yrs & 1 yr).  We had about 10 preschoolers and decided a children’s table would make our craft (decorating a frame from OrientalTrading.com) and cake a lot easier.  I tried a few places in the city and but most had pretty high minimums.  I found a good deal in AllAffairs.com in Midwood.  They have no minimums if we were willing to pick it up on our own and decent prices.  They rent 6ft & 8ft children’s tables along with plastic chairs (with metal legs) for children.   If you do want delivery, they have a $50 minimum with a charge for delivery depending upon your location.  It’s best to probably place an order in advance to make sure they what you need in stock.

balloons, table and chair rentals, balloon printing, cards, ribbon printing, etc

I go here a lot for balloons for Birch. It is a $1 for a latex balloon. It is really a dumpy looking place but it does the trick. UPDATE: I bought a helium balloon that they did not tie properly or inflate fully and the string came off about 4 blocks away. When I returned with just the string, they blew it up again, begrudgingly, and told me ” I better hold on tighter next time”. (!!). I was more than irritated. Definitely do not recommend.

Celebrate Express

You can buy everything here: prizes, balloons, etc. You can even order good bags (that are already filled for you!) I used them for a Mexican themed 40th bday party for Papa Tree- competitive prices, great variety and the goods ranged from kitschy to fabric made ones.

Prospect Heights
This is a young kid entrepreneur who has started his own balloon company. He delivers helium balloons and can make some balloon shapes for the kids too.

We used Eddie to deliver some balloons to a party space for a birthday. I also hired him to do some basic balloon twisting after the deliery. He called back promptly and appeared at the appointed time and day. He wasn’t able to do the balloon twisting as he had a slight case of the flu and his mother didn’t want him to possibly infect anyone. He was really sweet. The balloons were the right colors and nicely tied.

Pizazz Kids

$10 for a dozen balloons, minimum 2 dozen delivery

I didn’t have the best experience with Pizzazz for balloons. I called them a month in advance and was told by the owner to call back the week of the event- that I was calling too early. So, I called back, was told to come in and pay for the balloons in advance, begged for them to just take my credit card and save myself a trip. I told them I would come in the day before the Saturday to pay for a few dozen balloons. I called that day before to confirm and then got a call back to tell me no one was delivering balloons that Saturday! I couldn’t believe it. They made no other effort to help out. We ended up going to the dollar store and getting balloons that said “Happy 4th, Happy 1st Birthday” and “H and R Block”- well, at least it was worth a few jokes at the 40th birthday party!

This is a place I never walk out of empty-handed. They carry lots of breastfeeding paraphernalia, clothing, feeding supplies, strollers — any gear you can think of.
