Review of New Inflatable Car Seat: Perfect for Urban Parents
I dread getting in a taxi or car service without a car seat- and yet, I do it all the time. And, I admit, I’m guilty of taking 3 kids in a car (one without a car seat) on occasion. We just don’t own a floating car seat for carpooling friends. Baby Bodyguards, a professional baby proofing service based in Brooklyn, is an expert on our blog and this month they wrote to tell me about a cool new product that means I don’t have to do any of the above- anymore!
From Baby Bodyguards:
So many of you are planning fun summer travel and we have a new product that we think you are going to love trying out when you head out on that trip. We bought the BubbleBum for our son and thought it was so useful that we wanted to review it.
The BubbleBum is an inflatable booster seat weighing in at less than a pound. It is designed for kids aged 4-11 weighing between 40-100lbs. The seat comes folded in a small travel bag.
To use the BubbleBum, an adult blows up the seat using a valve on the back. Once the seat is fully inflated, the seat is surprisingly firm and supportive thanks to memory foam and energy absorbing material. The BubbleBum has three seat belt restraints: two to position the lap belt in the correct spot and one to ensure the shoulder belt is in a safe position. The shoulder restraint comes from the booster seat and is adjustable to position the shoulder strap of the seat belt at the right spot for your child. It’s easy to use and adjusts quickly.
You can easily fit 3 of these seats across in the back row. They are great for car pooling, getting in a taxi or car service and for Grandma’s car. Perfectly designed for both parents and children, The BubbleBum was recently named “Best Bet Booster” by the IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety), where they’ve branded BubbleBum as one of the best for safety. BubbleBum retails at $39.99, sold online, www.bubblebum.us, and now available on Target.com and BabiesRUs.com.
