Two new Brooklyn parenting sites
As you know, Brooklyn is blog capital of the world and there’s a good reason for that. Some of the best writers and designers live here and they have a lot of witty stuff to say. There are also a lot of babies in Brooklyn and so it seems the intersection of writing and parenting is a perfect pairing here. To that end, there are 2 new parenting blogs/sites that deserve mention.
Parents Around the Hill (PATH) is a forum on Ning that has an active, dedicated following of families living in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Bedford-Stuyvesant. They have over 400 members and nearly 200 pages of local listings including childcare and schools, parent groups, classes, party spaces, and other family-friendly activities in our neighborhood. It is a private social networking site open to parents only (current or expecting). But you can join by signing up at their site: www.parentsaroundthehill.com.
Ad Hoc Mom is a savvy blog by three moms about cobbling life together by working part-time and being a mom. As they say, the blog “is a little pocket of support”….and it’s funny. All three work part-time and work out what that means with full time mommydom. It’s a great place to feel at home.
