Ways for Kids to Give Back This Thanksgiving Weekend
I wrote a list of places to volunteer this Thanksgiving here.
But, if your kids are too young for the soup kitchens or to physically help out, a toy drive is a fabulous way to teach your kids that there are those less fortunate. And, the good news is this local toy drive is accessible this weekend (and until January 6th).
What better time is there for a child to show her thanks?
Your child can brighten the holidays for a needy child by donating a book or a toy to the Park Slope Civic Council’s 18th Annual Toys for Tots drive. Just bring in any gently used unwrapped gifts for children between the ages of 2 and 12 at locations throughout the Slope. All the toys collected are given to local organizations that work with families in need.
