Gifts will go to actual children- not baboons- but I couldn't resist using this image!

Many of you have been searching for a way that your children can get involved in helping Sandy victims. Here is a wonderful opportunity: the Wildlife Conservation Society always does an annual Holiday Toy Drive that has benefits veterans and active-duty members of the military and their families. However, this year, toys collected at Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo,
and NY Aquarium will benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Those collected at Bronx Zoo will benefit local military families.

And there’s a bonus! In appreciation for your generosity, when you donate a new, unwrapped toy at the Bronx Zoo between Saturday, Nov. 17 and Monday, Dec. 31, you will receive a free ticket to the Bronx Zoo.

Details:
The New York Aquarium will be accepting toy donations at Tom’s Diner at 1229 Boardwalk West in Coney Island. The zoos will accept toys at their location. For more information, please visit www.bronxzoo.com.
