This is the coolest bookmobile I have ever seen- not the one that is coming to Brooklyn though!
I guess if there is any time for a library to close for repairs, the early summer is the best time. However, having your neighborhood library close for any length of time is a total bummer. BUT, thanks to a new Bookmobile- the children won’t be left out.
Brooklyn Public Library will temporarily close the Greenpoint neighborhood library (107 Norman Avenue) after the close of business on Friday, June 4 for repairs. The repairs include: roof removal and replacement, minor façade remediation, interior ceiling tile replacement and lighting upgrade. They expect the library to be closed for 3 months and plan to open it on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., its regularly scheduled opening time.
All Greenpoint Library material holds will be available for pick up at the Leonard Library located at 81 Devoe Street, from Monday, June 7 through Friday, July 2, 2010.
Beginning June 8, BPL will provide interim service in front of the library from a new state-of-the-art Bookmobile on Tuesdays from 11 AM to 4 PM.
While the project proceeds, you can also visit our nearby libraries:

I have heard that the Williamsburg Library’s child room is lovely…anyone know what it’s like?
