Wallace & Gromit fans: there’s a film festival for you!

Our family are wildly fanatical fans of the claymation figures Wallace and Gromit. We’re like those fans of Fast Times at Ridgemont High: we quote the movie, make the sounds and laugh at ourselves imitating the characters. If you like Charlie and Lola (another one of our faves), you are probably a “wee bit” like that too.

If you haven’t been initiated into the Aardman Animations film groupie fan club, you’re about to: The NY International Children’s Film Festival is having a special run on Aardman films over 4 weekends from June 26th to July 18th. The festival will be a 25 year retrospective of their stop-animation films that will include their better known pieces: Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, but also their mini-masterpieces: Shaun the Sheep (on my top list), A Matter of Loaf and Death and others. The collected shorts are recommended for ages 6+ and the two features are for all ages.
Details: For tickets and info visit www.gkids.com or call 212-349-0330. The IFC is at 323 6th Ave, NY.
